2010 Routt County Livability Index
Social Data Set 1 = Child Care Composite Weighting of Quality and Quantity
Current Period Index Value = 1.007
Providing families and children with sufficient quality childcare is essential for a community to be a desirable place to live. The Index identifies two factors to measure the value of child care:
1.The quantity of available spaces and
2.The quality of the licensed child care facilities.
The overall index is a weighted average combining quantity and quality equally.
Qualstar data is used for both of these measurements. (Qualstar is a Colorado-based nonprofit dedicated to improving child development and age-appropriate learning experiences.)
General Observations:
Eight of the ten counties saw an improvement in the ratio of child care quality and quantity.
Chaffee county since the establishment of the baseline data has seen the greatest rate of improvement
Routt County Observations:
Routt County ranks 3rd and has improved 2.3% since the baseline was established.
