Are there appropriate quality facilities to care for the community's aging population?
As the general population ages, the need for better, larger and additional senior care facilities will become an increasing area of concern for all communities.  The capacity of skilled nursing facilities, assisted living and senior apartment housing available in a community is a reflection of the care and support of its senior population.
General Observations:
Garfield has the best facility ratio, however, as the senior population increases and capacity does not the ratios are declining
Eagle County was the only county to increase its ratio of facilities.
San Miguel and Summit counties have no senior facilities
Routt County Observations:
Routt County ranks 2nd.
Routt County has seen a decrease of 10% in its capacity ratio since the baseline was established.
