2010 Routt County Livability Index
Social Data Set 4 = Education
Current Period Index Value =1.054
What is the Quality of our Education System?
The Index focuses on three metrics that are each given an equal weighting. To assess education quality within the county the following premises were used:
1.The percentage of teaching staff in the public schools who have a master degree or above.
2.The percentage of 9th & 10th grade students achieving a score of proficient or advanced on the Colorado Student Assessment Program (CSAP).
3.The percentage of adults age 25+ in the counties who have obtained a Bachelor's Degree or better. This metric recognizes that education is often promoted and supported by the adults in a student's environment, and therefore an understanding of education attainment level is used.
If a county had multiple school districts, the results were combined to achieve a countywide composite.
