We would like to express our genuine appreciation to the following contributors whose generosity made the 2009 project possible.
Without the dedication of many, this project would have never been realized. Convened by the Routt County Economic Development Council (RCEDC) in 2006, a team of volunteers was identified based on their geographic representation and professional knowledge in the area they represented. The overall goal of the RCEDC was to reflect the needs and concerns of Routt County residents and to provide them with a basis for making more informed decisions to shape our community’s future. We can’t thank this group enough for their tireless dedication toward this project.
The project volunteers selected 46 categories to measure and determine livability. Integrity of the data was of the utmost importance. The focus of the Index is to present unbiased, factual information. The data sets selected originate from public sources and most are updated and available on the Internet.
The process to obtain the data is well documented, which enables easy replication from year to year. The Index will expand over time as new and enhanced data becomes available.
