• San Miguel County is the fastest improving county for diversity.

• Routt’s diversity is deteriorating at the 3rd fastest rate.

What is the diversity of income?

This measurement takes the total income generated by the top three industries in each county and determines what percentage of the total private sector income generated in that county is derived from those three industries. It is important to note this measurement does not include income generated by government. The lower the percentage is of the three industries, the better it is for the economic diversity and long-term stability of the county. It is interesting to note that in every county, the top three industries make up 40 percent to 50 percent of its income.
