General Observations

• Chaffee county has moved into first place with the lowest carbon output per capita.

• Grand is the worst and is getting worse at the fastest rate.

Routt County Observations:

• Routt continues to be in second place, although it had a significant increase in carbon output.

What are we doing to manage
energy consumption in our mountain
communities?

Global warming, carbon footprintand energy conservation are
often daily news topics nationwide. The Index attempts to raise the question: What are we doing on a daily basis in our communities to improve our environmental livability?

The objective is to enhance the Environmental Stewardship section of this report. The purpose of this index is to be a tracking tool to help affect change in Routt County. At this time the Index is using Carbon Output based on vehicle traffic to reflect energy consumption. Lower figures are better in relation to carbon output.
