The Routt County Livability Index (the “Index”) compares Routt County’s livability to other similar communities in order to provide context to changes that occur over time. The Index compares Routt County to nine Colorado counties including: Chaffee, Eagle, Garfield, Grand, Gunnison, La Plata, Pitkin, San Miguel and Summit. Combined with Routt County, the counties are referred to throughout the Index as “Core Counties.” While each of the counties differ from one another in several aspects, they all include a similar recreational component and share the benefits and challenges that accompany the changes that Routt County is experiencing. By monitoring Routt County compared to these other communities over time, we can better identify the areas where we can influence change locally with our policies and actions.
