This category measures
the ratio of the home
ownership for ages 25-44 compared to the
percentage of population
≥18. A perfect distribution would be a 1.0. Lower numbers would indicate this age group is not finding suitable housing to meet their needs as compared to other age groups. Routt County is second best at a ratio of .992.

What are the ages and percentage of homeowners and second homeowners in relation to the total population of the community?
Basis: As the nationwide market for housing fluctuates, the future of any community is dependent on the “next generation” to sustain the area. In any area, the prime age group for building and sustaining a community should be able to afford housing in the area. The age group of 25-44 was used for this analysis, based on the concern that if this age group is unable to own homes in the county, future workforce and social diversity will diminish.
